Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a Para AUT-Severe Level I - Special Education paraeducator to assist in supervising and instructing students with disabilities in various settings. You will implement IEP plans, monitor behavior, and support teachers across classrooms and community environments.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with Parapro assessments or 60 semester/90 quarter hours.

Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED or equivalent and Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro required
60 sem/90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college if not taking assessments

Responsibilities

Adapt classroom activities to reinforce IEP goals and objectives.
Administer first aid and medical assistance as instructed by health care professionals.
Administer tests, homework, and makeup work to support teachers.
Assist medically fragile or physically disabled students with daily needs.
Assist students with grooming, community accessibility, and other areas as assigned.
Consult with teachers regularly on evaluating progress and IEP objectives.
Implement and collect data under supervision for IEP plans and behavioral goals.
Monitor students to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
Maintain records and support files for teachers.
Provide instruction in small and large groups to reinforce instructional objectives.
Respond to emergencies and support crisis intervention procedures.
Assist with hallways, lunchroom, and bus duties as assigned.
