The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 30 college hours, and an Educational Aide certification (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 30 semester hours of college credit.
• Current Educational Aide certification or willingness to acquire TEA certification.
• Interest in working one-on-one with a student with significant needs.
• Ability to assist with self-help, mobility, academic, and behavioral skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Support behavior management by modelling and reinforcing positive behaviors.
• Maintain data tied to IEP goals and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Assist with lesson plans and reinforce learning concepts.
• Provide personal care services for students as needed.
• Support administration tasks like test scoring and accommodations.
