Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking an Instructional Paraprofessional - Secondary to support students with special needs in the resource classroom. This non-contract, hourly position involves assisting with instruction, behavior management, and clerical tasks under teacher supervision.

Hours are 5-6 per day, with Lane 5 at $15.61/hour for untrained and Lane 6 at $16.62/hour for trained employees who complete in-district training.

Qualifications

• Adapts classroom activities to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Administers tests, homework, make-up work to support teachers.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Supports students in self-care and personal hygiene.
• Provides instruction to students in individual or group activities to reinforce learning.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials under teacher direction to meet objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers first aid and basic medical assistance to students as needed.
• Administers tests and assignments to support classroom progress.
• Collects data to monitor student progress and outcomes.
• Assists students with self-care activities and daily living tasks.
• Guides students in learning and practicing skills to reach academic goals.
