Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a dedicated Special Education Instructional Assistant-General Curriculum or Adapted Curriculum to support students with IEPs in elementary, middle, or high schools. The role involves assisting teachers with instructional delivery, adapting materials, and ensuring a safe classroom environment.

The SAIA assignment may include one-on-one support and handling health-related student needs, with CPI training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications reference ESSA requirements for TITLE I schools.
• Possess high school diploma or GED.
• Experience or training in special education settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to teachers coordinating instructional programs for students with IEPs.
• Assist in implementing behavioral intervention plans and classroom strategies.
• Prepare materials and organize instructional activities in line with lesson plans.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information per FERPA and relevant laws.
• Support student transitions between classes and assist with health-care needs as required.
• Document and maintain required records and reports with accuracy.
