Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ESSA requirements for Title I schools: six hours coursework in early childhood or two years experience.
• CPI certification required; CPI training provided if needed.
• Ability to protect student confidentiality (FERPA).

Responsibilities

• Provides support to teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assists teachers with strategies for implementing behavioral intervention plans.
• Organizes materials and prepares supplies to support lesson plans.
• Maintains confidentiality and files required reports.
• Participates in staff development and applies new skills.
• Supports health care needs and safety of students, including transfers and daily supervision.
