Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to assist under supervision of certified teachers in monitoring and instructing special education students per Individual Education Plans. You will help students with academic, daily living and health care activities while relieving teachers of routine clerical tasks.

Requires an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits and experience with children. Benefits include sick leave, holidays, retirement matched through ASRS, health and life insurance,

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire.
• Experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom work under teacher direction and reinforce objectives.
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintenance of classroom.
• Assist in data collection on academic and behavior goals as instructed.
• Implement positive behavior intervention plans for students with challenging behaviors.
• Support students with personal care needs as required.
• Accompany students as they transition across campus and supervise groups.
• Maintain classroom and student equipment to ensure a safe environment.
• Perform clerical tasks to support the teacher and maintain student files.
• Attend meetings and participate in skill improvement activities.
