Job summary

Responsive Education Solutions is seeking a Special Education Instructional Aide to support students with disabilities and assist teachers in implementing IEPs. You will monitor progress, help with documentation, and collaborate with therapists and staff to ensure effective services.

The role involves preparing materials, assisting with assessments, and communicating with families, with duties extending beyond classroom hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or GED.
• Experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent.
• Three years as Educational Aide I/II; or 30 college credits with child development focus; or ECS Instructional Aide certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher and campus administration.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside of the classroom to enable participation in activities.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, social workers, and therapists.
• Maintain student records and assist in ARD/REED meetings with timelines.
• Help acquire contracted service providers as needed.
• Ensure progress is evaluated regularly to improve services for students with disabilities.
• Distribute IEP Report Cards to parents with general report cards.
• Plan resources and materials to support education goals for students with disabilities.
• Ensure compliance with state assessments and alternative assessments.
• Support Intervention processes with campus administration.
• Seek guidance from IDEA Coordination supervisor.
• Communicate with parents, students, teachers, and administrators.
• Implement school policies and records requirements.
• Complete reports and documents as required by law.
