Job summary

ResponsiveEd Campus in Texas is seeking a Special Education Instructional Aide to support students with a range of disabilities under the supervision of the classroom teacher and campus administration.

You will assist in implementing IEPs, monitor progress, and help students participate in activities inside and outside the classroom, coordinating with speech therapists, social workers, and therapists. This role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and adherence to ARD timelines.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or GED.
• Experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent.
• Meet one of: three years as Educational Aide I/II, or 30 college credits with focus on child growth, or completion of an Education Service Center Instructional Aide certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teacher and campus administration.
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for the students and monitor their progress.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside of the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
• Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists.
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
• Assist in scheduling ARD meetings and IEP evaluations ensuring timeline requirements are met.
• Assist in acquiring contracted service providers as needed.
• Ensure that student progress is evaluated regularly and findings used to improve services.
• Update and send IEP Report Cards to parents with general report cards.
• Plan time, resources, and materials to support general education teachers for students in special education.
• Ensure compliance with state assessments and alternative assessments.
• Assist with Response to Intervention process.
• Seek assistance from IDEA Coordination supervisor as needed.
• Support campus behavior management policies for students with disabilities.
• Establish open communication with parents, students, teachers, and administrators.
• Implement school policies, procedures, and guidelines for special education.
• Compile and maintain reports, records, and documents as required by law and the Director of Special Education.
• Perform special projects, including after hours (e.g., Saturday state tutorials).
