Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a part-time paraeducator to support special education students under direct supervision of certified teachers. You will assist with academics, daily living activities, and health care tasks while relieving teachers of routine clerical duties.

Work may involve monitoring students, implementing behavior plans, and assisting with classroom materials, transitions, and data collection. The position requires flexibility and reliable attendance in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
• Pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge
• Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent; experience working with children

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom work under teacher direction and reinforce objectives
• Assist in development of instructional materials and classroom maintenance
• Assist in data collection on academic and behavior goals and support behavior plans
• Support safe and positive learning environment and assist with transitions across campus
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development as needed
