Job summary

Hill 35 is seeking an Instructional Associate to support a Special Education In-Class program for the 26-27 school year. You will assist the licensed teacher with instruction, behavior management, and student self-help tasks, under supervision in a typical classroom setting.

You will help students with physical and learning needs, including basic care and mobility support, and contribute to creating a safe, organized environment that fosters learning and inclusion throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; may require two years of college coursework or an associate degree.
• Knowledge of and ability to assist in instruction reading, writing, and mathematics; readiness in reading and math instruction.
• Experience working with children; ability to work with students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and positioning.
• Assist with personal care needs and routines (feeding, bathroom, hygiene).
• Assist in behavior management and crisis interventions as needed.
• Assist in instructional materials preparation and classroom displays; maintain orderly classroom.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom, including meals, bus duty and recess.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate student needs to the teacher.
• Participate in staff development and school events as needed.
