Job summary

Hill 35 is seeking a dedicated special education teacher to provide learning activities and experiences designed to help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. You will develop or modify curricula, prepare lessons, and work in self-contained, team, or itinerant capacity as assigned.

You will collaborate with families and staff to develop IEPs through ARD, implement instructional programs, and plan engaging activities that reflect students’

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Teaching certification in multiple areas preferred.
• Teachers must obtain ESL Certification within one year of employment.
• At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education instruction designed to help students grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.
• Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons aligned to IEPs.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD process.
• Implement instructional programs and provide written evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting diverse learning styles and needs.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers and use technology in teaching.
