Job summary

Highbridge Hill Elementary School seeks a Paraprofessional (Special Education) to support certified teachers in meeting instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities. Familiarity with IEPs and reporting to case managers and the principal is required.

Responsibilities include small group or individualized support, data collection, and assisting with daily living activities to maximize student participation.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with special needs students is preferred.
• Must obtain paraprofessional certification within the first year.
• Familiarity with IEPs and educational plans.

Responsibilities

• Supports teachers in meeting instructional, educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities per IEP.
• Provides small group and/ or individualized support per teacher lesson plans.
• Assists students with daily living activities to maximize participation per IEP.
• Collects instructional and behavioral data for each student objective.
• Implements Behavior Intervention Plans for students with disabilities.
• Communicates with teachers about student issues and responses to parents.
