Job summary

Lexington Public Schools (MA) Lexington High School seeks an Instructional Assistant to support instructional programming and student interactions in a paraprofessional capacity. The role involves assisting with assistive technology, behavior interventions, and mobility/personal care as needed, under supervision of a special education team.

The ideal candidate holds a BS/BA, prior classroom experience, and is able to manage physical tasks.

Qualifications

• BS or BA; preferred highly qualified as paraprofessional per DESE standards.
• Willing and able to physically manage students if needed.
• Classroom experience and college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports instructional programming.
• Implements assistive technology.
• Facilitates interactions between students.
• Assists with implementing behavior intervention.
• Assists with mobility and transitioning and personal care as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
