Job summary

Lexington County School District One is seeking an Instructional Assistant, Preschool Itinerant Special Education, to support students with disabilities under IDEA. You will work under a certified teacher to provide academic, physical and emotional support in a preschool setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, or 60 college credits, or an associate's degree, or a ParaPro/ParaPathways score.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least two years of study (60 semester hours).
• An associate's degree (or higher).
• A passing score on the ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supports students under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Provides physical, emotional and academic support to students identified as disabled under IDEA.
• Assists teachers with classroom activities and prepares/distributes materials.
• Maintains confidentiality of student and employee information.
• Monitors and assists students with health programs and daily living routines.

Education
