Job summary

Minuteman High School in Lexington, MA is hiring a Building Paraprofessional/Special Education to provide building-wide support across academic and CTE classrooms. The role supports students with disabilities and assists in implementing IEP accommodations under licensed teachers.

The position is full-time, 10 months, Monday–Friday 7:30AM–2:30PM, with benefits including health, dental, and retirement. Immediate start; salary $35,000–$45,000 prorated.

Qualifications

• Experience working in special education preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required for student transport.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with instructional staff.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Minuteman educators and staff.
• Prepare materials, demonstrations, and equipment as directed by teachers.
• Demonstrate instructional methods to support student learning as directed.
• Supervise students to ensure a safe, structured environment.
• Implement classroom and CTE safety procedures.
• Support students with disabilities in all educational settings.
• Collaborate with instructors to deliver IEP accommodations and modifications.
• Transport students as needed using Minuteman vehicles.
• Substitute for teachers when necessary.
• Participate in professional development and department initiatives.

Education

High school diploma

Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to collaborate with instructional staff

Experience with diverse student populations including students with disabilities

Proficient with technology
