Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a Special Education ESP paraprofessional to support students with eligible special education services on site. You will assist with instructional and behavioral support under certified staff direction, collect data, and help communicate progress to teachers.

The role includes supervision before, during, and after school, meal times, and field trips, with duties tailored to individual student needs. The position requires flexibility and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 60 college credits and/or 2-year degree with official transcripts.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Paraeducator assessments feasible in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
• Provide support for personal cares and health needs as required.
• Observe and document student progress and behavior.
• Maintain accurate data collection of goals and objectives.
• Communicate progress to teachers and related staff.
• Support students with de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Supervise students before/after school, during meals and on field trips.
