Job summary

Qualifications

• 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university. Include official transcript(s).
• In lieu of college credits or degree, can complete the Paraeducator Assessments with Minnesota passing scores of 65% and 70%.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience with elementary age students helpful.
• Flexibility and ability to work as a cooperative team member.
• Positive rapport with children and ability to correct behavior fairly and consistently.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
• Provide support to students with personal cares as needed.
• Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
• Collect data on student progress and share with teachers.
• Provide feedback on student progress to classroom teachers and related staff.
• Support students with de-escalation techniques and use restrictive procedures as needed (training provided).
• Supervise students in various settings before, during and after school hours.
• Move to meet students at their level and assist during meals, recess, and field trips.
