Job summary

RSU 40 Midcoast Maine is seeking Educational Technicians to support students across special education programs. The role covers multiple classrooms and programs, providing academic, behavioral, and functional support with a focus on inclusive learning environments.

Ideal candidates hold Maine Ed Tech I, II, or III certification (or can obtain it) and have strong communication and teamwork skills. This program-based position offers training and opportunities to work with diverse student needs

Qualifications

• Maine Ed Tech I, II, or III certification (or ability to obtain).
• Experience working with children (preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and willingness to support across programs.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and responsive in dynamic situations.
• Commitment to student growth, inclusion, and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Support students in academic, behavioral, and functional skill development.
• Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support in a variety of settings.
• Assist with classroom routines, materials, and organization.
• Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities.
• Build positive, supportive relationships with students.
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and program teams.
• Help create safe, structured, and inclusive learning environments.
