Job summary

RSU 40 Midcoast Maine is hiring Educational Technicians to support students with diverse needs across special education programs. The role involves teamwork with teachers and related service providers to deliver academic, behavioral, and functional support on a program-based basis.

Ideal candidates will hold or pursue Maine Ed Tech I/II/III certification, have experience with children, and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills in a flexible, student-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Maine Ed Tech I/II/III certification required or ability to obtain.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Flexibility to support across multiple programs.
• Calm, patient, and responsive in dynamic situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students in academic, behavioral, and functional skill development.
• Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support across classrooms and programs.
• Assist with routines, materials, and organization in learning environments.
• Support transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities.
• Foster positive relationships and collaborate with teachers and service providers.
