Job summary

Lewiston Public Schools seeks an Education Technician III to assist in delivering services outlined in students' IEPs and PBSPs within RISE/Day Treatment programs. The role includes 1:1 to small group instruction, data collection, and classroom support throughout the school day.

Responsibilities also cover de-escalation, IEP/PBSP adherence, material preparation, and maintaining classroom displays, while following school policy and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Three years postsecondary education and/or 90 credit hours of approved study.
• Education Technician III certification required by Maine DOE.
• School Based Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification may be required or preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical educational instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in 1:1, 1:2 and small group situations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate 1:1, 1:2 and small group instruction for complex learners throughout the day.
• Implement and follow an IEP and PBSP; apply de-escalation strategies.
• Assist with setup of classroom and materials for specialized instruction.
• Collect relevant data and perform data entry.
• Maintain displays and prepare instructional materials.
• Operate standard school equipment and follow day-to-day student schedules.
