Job summary

Qualifications

• Understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism.
• Ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and district de-escalation training.
• Demonstrate agility, lifting, toileting, and personal care skills.
• Follow multiple service care plans (e.g., BIPs, OT, PT, Health Care Plans).
• Learn to use Assistive Technology devices (communication devices, computers, technology).
• Support implementation of structured teaching strategies as directed by the DI teacher.
• Assist with communication supports (visuals, schedules, reinforcement systems).
• Collect and record student data as directed by the teacher or specialist to support progress monitoring and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in core academic areas designed by teachers/specialists and assist with data collection.
• Participate as a contributing member of a collaborative team and implement behavioral and social skills programs as directed.
• Assist with de-escalation/soft restraint techniques as needed under supervision.
