Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, seeks an assistant teacher to support K-12 students needing additional supports in in-district or standalone classrooms.

You will work with diverse learners, implement SESI’s rotational model, and collaborate with teachers to tailor academic and behavioral supports. Responsibilities include small group instruction, assessments, data-driven task assignments, and supervision to ensure student safety and progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction implementing SESI's academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks, using data to choose materials, and completing one-on-one tutorials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and guiding independent study or enrichment activities.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management to maintain safety.
• Support daily plan creation and implementation.
• Track student growth toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
