Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, invites you to join as an assistant teacher in Sacramento, CA. SESI partners with school districts to serve K-12 students needing additional supports in smaller class settings with collaborative planning between teachers and staff.

You will lead small groups, assist with assessments, track progress, and help create daily plans using SESI’s PBIS framework to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction as you implement SESI’s academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks, using data to select materials, and tutoring individually.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and accommodations/modifications as needed.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies; implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management as necessary.
