Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, seeks an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special and alternative education needs in in-district classrooms and standalone schools.

You will collaborate with teachers, implement a rotational instructional model, and track student progress using data-driven methods. Responsibilities include leading small groups, supporting behavior and academics, and communicating with families while maintaining a safe, engaging

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction implementing the SESI academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks and using data to select materials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and accommodations.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Implement de-escalation techniques and crisis management as needed for safety.
• Support daily plans and track student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during movement between locations.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to address student needs.
