Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to assist certified teachers and specialists in monitoring and instruction for special education students under the guidance of IEPs. The role supports academic tasks, daily living activities, and health care tasks as needed.

You will help deliver classroom work, reinforce objectives, and contribute to data collection on student goals while maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits required at time of hire or pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge.
• Previous experience and record of effectiveness in similar roles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, under teacher's direction, classroom work/homework and reinforce objectives, tutoring and guided practice.
• Assist in the development of instructional materials and maintenance of classroom.
• Assist in the collection of data on academic and behavior goals as instructed.
• Implement positive behavior intervention plans for students with challenging behaviors.
• Respond to problem behaviors according to the student\'s plan and district policy.
• Perform and provide support tasks as required by district procedures.
• Assist with daily activities such as transitions, personal care needs, and supervision as appropriate.
