Job summary

Ysleta Independent School District seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom. You will assist with IEP implementation, self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs under supervision of certified staff.

The role involves helping with testing, technology integration, and daily routines, including physical assistance and personal care as needed, to promote student progress and learning.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED and 48 college hours.
• Must possess SBEC paraprofessional certificate.
• CPR, Heimlich and NCI certifications required within district calendar.
• Familiar with OT/PT apparatus and able to use it.
• Must communicate, listen, read, write, and comprehend English easily.

Responsibilities

• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom (lunchroom, bus, playground).
• Assist teacher with instructional material preparation, behavioral interventions, and physical needs of students.
• Participate in staff development and implement strategies into curriculum.
• Work with individuals, small groups, and whole class as assigned by teacher.
• Assist students with development and behavioral needs to meet IEP goals.
• Reinforce skills and units taught by the teacher.
• Follow IEP guidelines under supervision and document services.
