Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an instructional aide to support students under the supervision of a certified teacher. You will assist in planning, conducting, and managing classroom activities, including small group instruction and materials preparation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus relevant experience or credentials, and involves working with children in a school setting. A health insurance benefit is provided by the district.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college coursework acceptable.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under teacher direction, individually or in groups.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Maintain a neat, orderly classroom and manage inventory of equipment.
• Keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and recess as assigned.
• Report any student needs or problems to the teacher.
