Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist teacher with administrative records and reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and personal care as needed.
• Keep teacher informed of student needs or problems.
• Help manage behavior and intervene in crises as needed.
• Adapt interaction to differences in each student’s needs.
• Work with students or small groups to develop motor skills and exercises.
• Supervise students during the day in classrooms, lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in staff development, meetings, and events.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
