Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a part-time Special Education Instructional Aide for the Intermediate School. The role runs 5 hours daily (10:00 am–3:00 pm), follows the school calendar, and does not include benefits. You will assist staff with IEPs, supervise lunch and recess, and work with students of varied abilities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, be organized, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, and the community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education preferred.
• Possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work with students of all abilities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic educational classroom operations.
• High degree of organization, self-initiative and accuracy.
• Ability and skills to work as part of an educational team.
• Assist Special Education staff in supporting student IEPs.
• Supervision during lunch and recess.
