Job summary

Sylvania is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Special Education to support students under the supervision of the classroom teacher. Assignment dates run ASAP through November 27, 2026.

Responsibilities include assisting with lesson plans, maintaining IEP/504 plan fidelity, and supervising students during school activities. A Paraprofessional qualification or higher is required, with a focus on helping students succeed in inclusive settings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college credits required.
• ParaPro exam passes the state assessment testing for knowledge to assist in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students.
• Assist teacher in preparing classroom and instruction.
• Follow lesson plans with fidelity and support students during activities.
• Supervise students during duties inside and outside the classroom (cafeteria, playground, field trips, etc.).
• Assist with data collection for student academic/behavior goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by principal or Teacher of Record.
