Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks an Instructional Aide II to support students in grades K-12. You will work closely with teachers to implement individualized strategies and enhance classroom effectiveness.

You will assist with curriculum activities, data collection, and transportation duties as needed. The role requires crisis intervention skills, flexibility, and a commitment to student success in a dynamic educational setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
• CA Emergency 30 Day Sub Permit within 90 days of starting employment.
• Valid CA state driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting students in education, preferably in special education.
• Experience with special education services, lesson planning, and classroom management.
• Experience with children with learning disabilities, autism, and behavioral health needs.
• Ability to drive Spectrum vehicles for student transportation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized support and guidance to students in Grades K-12.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement individualized strategies.
• Document student progress and contribute to IEP/ITP/PBIP planning.
• Provide hands-on vocational training and job coaching on campus and in community sites.
• Assist with classroom operations, materials, and scheduling.
• Maintain student data records and confidentiality.
• Respond to crises with de‑escalation and safety procedures.
• Support transportation routes and safety on Spectrum vehicles where applicable.
