Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Special Education Aide SSCI at Parkland Middle School to support students with disabilities, assist with IEP implementations, and work under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role involves student supervision, instructional support, and participation in staff development.

Responsibilities include assisting with testing, using augmentative communication tools, and helping with personal care and positioning as needed to meet each student’s educational goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 48 college hours preferred.
• Paraprofessional certificate issued by SBEC or eligible.
• CPR and Heimlich maneuver, and NCI certification must be obtained within district training calendar.
• Experience with students and parents is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students inside and outside classroom (lunch, bus, playground).
• Assist with instructional material prep and behavioral interventions.
• Implement IEP strategies and monitor student progress.
• Work with individuals, small groups, and whole class as assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with augmentative communication devices as appropriate.
• Maintain documentation of services and assist with SHARS billing as required.

Education
