Special Education 1:1 Aide

2025-2026 School Year. Year‑to‑year position (as needed). Additional before and after school hours available: aide on bus or for sports & extracurriculars.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Post‑secondary education preferred with a background in medical/special education.
• Experience working with special‑needs children preferred.
• Safety Care, CPR and first aid training preferred or willing to train.
• Ability to take direction from and work under the supervision of one or more teachers.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable (may require LPN certification depending on student needs).

Responsibilities

• Work with the assigned student as determined by the teacher or administrator.
• Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques.
• Awareness of medical concerns: allergies, seizures, etc. and student assistance protocol.
• Accompany students to designated areas and classes as directed and assist student with class work.
• Attend in‑service training sessions that pertain to special education.
• Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the classroom teacher and/or the principal.

Position Type: Full‑time

Salary: $20.75 to $25.95 per hour (in accordance with the Non‑Union Personnel Guidelines & Benefits)
