Job summary

East Falmouth School in Falmouth, MA is hiring a Special Education 1:1 Aide for the 2026-2027 school year on a year-to-year basis. The role includes before/after school duties, bus/sports support, and collaboration with teachers to support a student with special needs.

The position requires a High School Diploma, with preferred post-secondary education in medical or special education and prior experience with disabled students. Safety Care training is preferred or trainable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Post-secondary education preferred with background in medical/special education.
• Experience working with Special Needs children preferred.
• Safety Care training preferred or willingness to train.
• Ability to take direction from and work under supervision of teachers.
• May require LPN certification depending on student needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with the assigned student as determined by the teacher or administrator.
• Willingness to be trained in specific behavioral techniques.
• Awareness of medical concerns: allergies, seizures, etc. and student assistance protocol.
• Accompany students to designated areas and classes as directed and assist student with class work.
• Attend in-service training sessions that pertain to special education.
• Perform such other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the classroom teacher and/or the Principal.
