Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an instructional assistant to support special education programs. The candidate will coordinate with teachers and assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and progress towards an Associate's degree or CDA credential. Responsibilities include assisting in classroom activities, maintaining confidentiality, and effective collaboration with staff and parents. A CPI certification is required, and preferred qualifications include First Aid and CPR certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and Associate’s degree or CDA credential required.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assist with behavioral intervention plans.
• Aids in planning, organizing, and evaluating instructional activities.
• Provide in-class support while promoting independence for students.
• Maintain confidentiality and compile reports.
