Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPI certification, and ability to assist with students with various needs. Regular school-day hours with occasional evenings; some sites require collaboration with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps.
• Working knowledge of instructional delivery methods.
• Familiarity with general classroom activities and routines.
• Ability to protect confidentiality under FERPA and related laws.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Ability to motivate students and supervise safety.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assist with strategies related to behavioral intervention plans.
• Help plan and organize instructional activities and materials; ensure resources are available.
• Demonstrate professional skills to support student achievement and school programs.
• Maintain composure and good judgment when interacting with students.
• Support students toward independence and self-determination.
• Assist with assistive technology and AAC devices in the classroom.
• Maintain reports and confidentiality of student information.
• Participate in district professional development.
• Coordinate student transitions and assist with health care needs as required.
• Assist with CPI-related responsibilities and safety management.
