Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital Wooster SCN is seeking a Staff Nurse for PRN nights (7pm–7:30am) with a BSN and Ohio RN licensure. This role emphasizes family-centered pediatric care, leadership, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

A 36-hour minimum over a 6-week schedule is required, with on-site duties and potential cross-coverage. The ideal candidate has BLS certification, strong communication skills, and experience in EPIC or similar EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• On-site, PRN schedule with nights (7p-7:30a) and minimum 36 hours per 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care for varied ages; consider physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership and perform professional duties.
• Deliver patient-centered care and ensure safety and quality.
• Engage in quality improvement and safety activities.
• Educate/mentor staff; may precept new employees.
• Support providers and promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care.
• Utilize systems-based practice and informatics in daily work.
• Temporary assignments across Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
• Other duties as required.
