Job summary

Akron Children's Staff Nurse (RN) position, PRN with day shift (7am-7:30pm), provides essential pediatric nursing care in a family-centered model. The role supports cross-unit assignments across the Akron Children's Hospital enterprise as patient needs require, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care.

Required are a BSN or progress toward it within 5 years, Ohio RN license, BLS certification, and 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

BSN degree required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
Current Basic Life Support certification required.
Licensed Registered Nurse in Ohio required.
Minimum of 1 year relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family centered focus.
Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
Perform patient-centered care duties.
Engage in quality improvement and safety tasks.
Assist in staff education and mentoring where needed.
Practice evidence-based duties.
Support providers and promote collaboration for quality pediatric care.
Engage in systems-based practice and informatics duties.
Staff may be assigned across Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
Other duties as required.
