Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Special Care Nursery Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide specialized care for neonates and adults. The role covers ABG, PFTs and various ventilator support, with supervision by the medical director and adherence to department policies.

Candidates should have NICU experience and be licensed in Texas. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS, with NRP and/or PALS to be obtained within one year.

Qualifications

• NICU / Special Care Nursery experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NRP/PALS or equivalent - must obtain within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, humidification and airway care.
• Manages cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests such as ABG, pulse oximetry and PFTs.
• Conducts bedside respiratory assessments and documents findings.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data with clinical correlation.
• Sets up, operates and troubleshoots ventilators and respiratory equipment.
• Supports infection control, safety and quality assurance initiatives.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Utilizes patient communication to enhance satisfaction and compliance.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
