Job summary

County of Riverside's Human Resources Temporary Assignment Program (TAP) seeks a bilingual Temporary Social Services Assistant in Lake Elsinore to support the Department of Public Social Services. This entry-level, full-time temporary role provides routine case management support, liaison work, and outreach services within the DPSS.

Training and supervision are provided. The role requires a California driver's license and bilingual proficiency.

Qualifications

Six months as a Community Services Assistant in Riverside County department.
One year experience delivering client-directed services in social service, healthcare, mental health, or nonprofit settings.
Completion of 15 semester or 24 quarter units from an accredited college or university, preferably related to psychology, sociology, or social services.
Knowledge of basic public social service programs and related policies, laws, and procedures.
Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Provide routine support to professional staff and social workers in case management.
Coordinate social services programs, applicants/recipients, and outreach activities.
Act as liaison between clients, County departments, and community groups.
Assist with resource referrals, training in work skills, and parenting-related services.
Prepare reports and maintain electronic records of client visitation and statuses.
Interpret for non-English speaking clients when applicable.
