Job summary

Medix is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative (Revenue Cycle) to work onsite in Cleveland, OH, with occasional remote coverage when needed. The role involves bedside patient interviews for eligibility, Spanish-speaking requirements, and experience with Medicaid or Charity Care eligibility.

Shifts include 8:00am-5:00pm EST, 10:30am-7:00pm, or Sun-Wed 10:00am-8:30pm; training is virtual for two weeks before onsite work. The position offers hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in medical billing, medical coding, healthcare eligibility, hospital operations, government assistance programs, or a related healthcare field preferred.
• Previous experience in a customer service or patient-facing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review hospital census reports and referral sources to identify self-pay patients who may qualify for financial assistance.
• Conduct eligibility screenings for State, County, and Federal assistance programs.
• Complete face-to-face screenings with patients at the bedside or in the Emergency Room when possible.
• Initiate and assist with eligibility applications, directing patients to the appropriate assistance program.
• Explain available services and ongoing support during the eligibility process.
• Coordinate transitions to Patient Advocate Specialists to ensure continuity of service.
