Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Skilled Healthcare Interpreter-Spanish for the day shift at Atrium Health Cabarrus - Concord. This role supports language access across in-person, telephone, and video interpreting.

Requirements include English and Spanish proficiency, high school diploma (Bachelor's preferred), at least 1 year healthcare experience, and 40-hour interpreter training with certification preferred. 32 hours/week, 8-hour shifts Tue/Wed/Sat/Sun 8am-4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum 1 year related experience in healthcare interpreting.
• 40-hour Medical Interpretation Training Program within 1 year of hire.
• National medical interpreter certification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, telephone, and video interpretation for patient care.
• Troubleshoot basic software/app issues to deliver language services.
• Maintain relationships with internal customers and manage interpreter modalities.
• Interpret patient information accurately considering cultural context.
• Educate caregivers on patient culture related to healthcare.
• Adhere to professional conduct standards.
• Translate basic written information as needed.
• Serve as cultural mediator.
