Job summary

Yuma County, AZ is seeking a Spanish Outreach Librarian to coordinate and deliver Spanish-language library services to the community. The role includes leading staff, conducting outreach, presenting programs, and assisting patrons with resources in both Spanish and English.

The position emphasizes developing outreach activities, tracking program statistics, and collaborating with the Community Relations team to engage Spanish-speaking residents.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Library Science, Spanish Communications, Education or related field; two years’ experience in library services.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, including the ability to speak, read, and write Spanish to independently provide library services and conduct outreach to Spanish-speaking communities.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a fingerprint Clearance Card and pass a background check; valid Arizona driver’s license.
• Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System and general library operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Spanish language library services for the public and act as lead worker for assigned staff.
• Provide outreach, deliver presentations, and assist patrons in English and Spanish.
• Assist with reviewing, selecting, and ordering Spanish language materials; assist with program statistics.
• Generate reports and maintain files; schedule outreach events and prepare related correspondence.
• May work at other library branches and divisions and ensure timely registrations for events.
