Job summary

KACE is seeking Linguists to perform real-time and recorded transcription from Spanish to English for sensitive law enforcement work. You will produce accurate, court-ready written products and decode slang and coded language.

Projects may involve various media formats and require fast, precise documentation, with travel to client sites. The role demands attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and timely communication with law enforcement personnel on diverse shifts, including

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of translation experience in Spanish.
• Knowledge of Spanish, Mexican dialect colloquialisms, slang terms, and regional expressions.
• Ability to meet a language assessment score of 3 or better in English and Spanish.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Must type 45 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Listen to live or recorded Spanish communications and produce verbal and written synopses and transcriptions.
• Communicate pertinent information to law enforcement personnel in a timely manner.
• Build and maintain slang term and code dictionaries for projects.
• Transcribe and translate calls and documents as assigned by supervisor.
• Produce court-ready transcriptions in required formats.
• Operate government-provided software and equipment used at the site.
• Maintain a daily productivity log.
