Job summary

KACE Company seeks a Linguist for real-time and recorded transcription from Spanish to English in support of law enforcement projects. You will capture accurate, court-ready written products and identify colloquialisms, codes, and slang while ensuring precise documentation for sensitive assignments.

The role requires working on-site across multiple locations, with potential day and night shifts, including weekends. Prior translation experience and fast, accurate typing are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year translation experience in Spanish.
• Knowledge of Caribbean dialect colloquialisms and slang.
• Excellent written and spoken English/Spanish grammar and spelling.

Responsibilities

• Listen to live or recorded Spanish communications and produce transcriptions and summaries.
• Translate and transcribe calls and documents as assigned.
• Maintain a master list of slang terms and codes for the project.
• Produce court-ready transcriptions in required formats.
• Operate government-provided software and equipment at the site.
• Meet a minimum productivity standard (e.g., 16 minutes per 8-hour day).
