Job summary

KACE Company is seeking a Linguist to transcribe Spanish (Mexican) to English for law enforcement support. The role requires real-time or recorded work, handling slang and coded language, and delivering court-ready outputs.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of translation experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. Travel to client sites is required and the position is hourly.

Qualifications

• Spanish language proficiency with regional expressions and slang.
• Ability to produce accurate, court-ready written translations from Spanish to English.
• Experience with transcription and translation for law-enforcement-related material.
• Must score high on APOLLO assessments or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Listen to live or recorded Spanish communications and produce verbal/written transcriptions and translations.
• Communicate pertinent information to law enforcement clients in a timely manner.
• Maintain master slang/term lists and a voice library for the project duration.
• Transcribe and translate audio per project standards and use provided tools.
