Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Spanish Medical Interpreter to join our onsite care teams in Columbia, SC. You will facilitate clear, compassionate communication between LEP patients, families and providers, ensuring accurate interpretation of medical information and consent processes.

Minimum of 1 year of interpreter experience is required; national certification through CCHI is preferred but not required at hire. Bridging the Gap training must be completed upon hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of medical interpreter experience required.
• Nationally certified through CCHI preferred but not required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide sight-translation and interpretation for patients and families.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical codes.
• Interpret accurately using medical terminology and cultural context.
• Follow NCIHC guidelines and participate in ongoing training.
• Travel to other Lexington Health facilities as needed.
