Job summary

The Health Federation of Philadelphia seeks an Interpreter - Spanish to provide real-time interpretation between English and Spanish for patients, staff, and the public in a health center setting.

In addition to interpretation, you will perform routine clerical tasks, explain insurance eligibility including ACA requirements, and document information in the electronic medical records system.

Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, on-site at the Health Center.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and designated non-English language.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to convey instructions clearly.
• Basic clerical skills including filing and phone handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation between English and Spanish for patients, staff, and the public.
• Translate written materials between English and Spanish (letters, forms, instructions).
• Clarify or repeat information to ensure understanding among all parties.
• Assist non-English-speaking individuals in navigating city services, programs, and Health Center resources.
• Explain insurance program benefits and ACA eligibility criteria.
• Document patient eligibility and application status in the electronic medical records system.
• Perform general office support tasks such as filing and answering calls.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
