Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's preferred.
• 1+ year of related healthcare interpreting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• National medical interpreter certification preferred.
• 40-hour Medical Interpretation Training within 1 year of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively respond to language access requests in healthcare settings via in-person, phone, or video interpreting.
• Use technology to deliver services across modalities and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Maintain relationships with internal customers and select appropriate interpreter modalities.
• Interpret patient and family healthcare information accurately and with cultural context.
• Educate caregivers about patient culture and healthcare practices.
• Comply with professional conduct standards and ethical duties.
• Translate basic written information as needed within department guidelines.
