Job summary

Duke Health seeks a qualified interpreter to provide Spanish interpretation, translation and medical escort services at the Duke Children's & Internal Medicine Clinic in North Durham.

You will perform face-to-face and phone/video interpretation, translate clinical documentation, and serve as a neutral conduit to ensure accurate, confidential communication between non-English-speaking patients, families and Duke staff.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent; translation competency testing in Spanish.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Previous experience in a Health Care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation for medical appointments.
• Provide phone or video interpretation.
• Translate documentation for providers/clinicians.
• Maintain confidentiality of all assignment-related information.
• Serve as a neutral conduit between Duke staff and non-English-speaking patients.
